The family of missing Australian Rye Hunt plan to fly to Brazil to aid in the search for the 25-year-old who disappeared in Rio de Janeiro.

Australian authorities confirmed they were working with Brazilian officials and the family of Mr Hunt, who was last seen at Rio de Janeiro International Airport on the afternoon of May 21. Mr Hunt’s sister Romany Brodribb told AAP her brother had not accessed his bank accounts since he went missing.

A crowdfunding page set up to fund flights for the family to Brazil to look for Mr Hunt, who was working in Western Australia up until April, has raised $6000 in less than 12 houRS.
